She Called Her Sister Out For Being A Hypocritical Mistress After She Got Shamed For Dating A Guy Who Had A Kid

This 22-year-old woman recently got back into the dating pool for the first time in a while after ending her long-term relationship.
She has been seeing a new guy for a few months now, and he invited her to attend his mom’s destination wedding in Mexico at the end of August. She was happy to go, too, and told the guy yes.
Yet, her 27-year-old sister, who she has not been close with over the past few years, decided to chime in with an opinion on her budding relationship.
It all began after her sister asked her to babysit in August, but it just so happened to be the same dates that she would be in Mexico.
So, she was forced to tell her sister no, and just a few days later, her sister went over to her house and claimed she shouldn’t see the guy anymore.
She was obviously confused and asked her sister why. Then, her sister admitted to looking the guy up and learning that he had a child with his ex-girlfriend.
That’s why her sister said that going away for two weeks for a wedding made him look like a bad father and that she shouldn’t want to “be with a deadbeat.”
“I was shocked and told my sister that he has a good co-parenting relationship and sees his son regularly,” she recalled.
“And it doesn’t make him a bad dad to leave town for a wedding. Plus, he’s not even my boyfriend yet!”

Regardless, her sister wouldn’t drop it. In fact, her sister claimed to be shocked that she would date a guy who is a “deadbeat” after watching what her sister went through with the father of her twins– who, apparently, made her sister hate her life.
Then, her sister accused her of being a disgusting “side chick” and even said that the guy she’s seeing is probably still messing around with other women– because her sister thinks that all “baby daddies” still hook up with the mothers of their children!
Now, this seemed utterly hypocritical coming from her sister. Back when her sister was younger, her sister actually used to date married men all of the time just because her sister loved being a mistress.
“I was young at the time, but I still understood how what she was doing was wrong,” she explained.
“And she would always say I was a little girl and would understand when I was older.”
Her sister even used to tell her about how guys would choose her over their wives and kids, and her sister felt a sense of power after turning a guy into a “deadbeat” while dating him. According to her, her sister simply loved knowing that men would do anything to be with her.
Eventually, her sister did change once she got “humbled” by life. Still, her sister ultimately got pregnant with a married guy, who claimed he would leave his wife to be with her sister.
However, the guy never got a divorce and instead moved states away to remain with his family. This left her sister as a single mother of twins who severely struggled afterward.
“My sister didn’t take care of her postpartum body and gained 80 pounds on top of her other weight gain, and is now focusing on her kids and doesn’t date as she used to,” she said.
“My sister pretends she’s changed as a person, but really, it’s because she has no other choice.”
That’s why, following her sister’s totally uncalled-for comments about the guy she’s seeing, she told her sister off and referenced her sister’s entire history.
This caused her sister to start crying, accuse her of being disgusting again, and claim she went too far before storming off. But she knows her sister only got so upset because her sister knows that she’s right.
Regardless, her mom wound up calling her and screaming at her after– saying that she was disgusting for insulting her sister like that. Her mom even said that she needed to apologize for standing up for herself.
“But my sister’s trying to shame me for going on a two-week-long vacation with a single father when she used to date married ones,” she vented.
Still, her family believes that her sister’s past is in the past and that her sister has changed. So now, she’s been left wondering whether calling her sister out for being a hypocrite was the wrong thing to do.
Do you think her sister had any right to comment on the guy she’s dating, given her sister’s own dating history? If you were in her shoes, how would you have reacted? Do you think she went too far or not?
