She Prevented Her Former Bully From Joining Her Workplace, But Then She Got Accused Of Limiting His Opportunities

This 26-year-old woman was recently in a complicated work situation where she met a 50-year-old guy. And together, they worked between two stores alongside another male employee, who was 22.
Now, one of the stores was actually doing quite well from the start. However, the other store, which was smaller, was being run by a manager who had some serious ego issues.
And apparently, the manager would take his anger out on his colleagues.
Then, as time passed, she realized that other coworkers– not just the manager– started to treat her differently.
She later found out that the older, 50-year-old guy had been gossiping about her to coworkers in the store where she preferred to work.
Not long afterward, other coworkers jumped on the bandwagon, too, and it became pretty uncomfortable working at either of the stores.
“To top it all off, I tried refusing to speak negatively about the manager with ego problems, so I got grouped in with him and found out he was gossiping about me, too,” she revealed.
The situation even got so bad that she was actually thrown under the bus by her coworkers– who, apparently, thought she was buddies with the manager.
So, she just had a really terrible time at work and wound up becoming pretty depressed due to how she was treated.

But she was eventually able to get herself out of that situation. She found a new gig that was similar but allowed her to work at two entirely new stores.
Even though both stores had a large number of staff members, she made her store preference known from the beginning.
However, not long afterward, she found out that the 50-year-old guy from her last job had actually applied to the store she did not like as much.
So, she recommended him for the job and initially tried to treat him nicely.
“But he decided to be a jerk and completely undermined me, so I requested not to work with him,” she explained.
Her employer was nice about the situation and tried not to have them working together. Then, after a while, she was able to just work at only her preferred store– which made her happy.
At the same time, she did mention to some other colleagues how the guy made her uncomfortable. That’s why he never even entered her preferred store, even though he tried to get close to some of her male coworkers.
So, for a long time, she was doing great, and work was going well. But more recently, the younger 22-year-old guy from her last job also joined her new company and began working between the two stores again.
At that point, she made a comment about how she was not interested in letting the older man into her “crew,” given what happened in the past.
“But he seemed to act like I was in the wrong for cutting off an opportunity for the older guy,” she vented.
So now, she’s been left wondering whether preventing her former bully from joining her workplace was wrong or justified.
Did she actually limit the man’s work opportunities? Or did he do that himself by creating a negative work environment? What would you have done had you been in her shoes?
