During the ceremony, she and Angel sat in the back, where no one even noticed that Angel was there. Afterward, she went to the reception venue to set up the slideshow and music stand.
She explained that the venue legally had to allow service animals, and the venue employee was understanding. While she was setting up, Angel alerted her a few times to eat so that she could regulate her sugar.
When guests started to arrive at the venue for the reception, they noticed Angel, and she informed them that he was a service animal. But when Chloe, her husband, and their kids arrived at the venue, she said that Chloe was immediately angry.
“Chloe freaked when she saw Angel. Her youngest, a toddler, also noticed and started to cry, as he was scared of big dogs. Angel was in his vest and was lying down, calm as could be. Before I could begin the music for their first dance, she was at my music stand, screaming at me that I was selfish for bringing Angel to her wedding, that I could have gone one night without having to be the center of attention, and that I could be healthy for once and not eat so much sugar,” she said.
Then, Chloe kicked her and Angel out of the venue before both the dinner and the slideshow. After that, Chloe sent her a mean email telling her she had ruined the wedding and wanted her to pay her back for the missing slideshow and music.
Despite needing to have Angel with her on a constant basis, she feels terrible for making Chloe’s toddler cry, and now she feels bad about bringing Angel in the first place.
What would you have done if you were in her shoes?
