In 2012, this 38-year-old man’s then-wife filed for divorce and moved out.

Once the divorce was final, they had a joint custody agreement, but his ex-wife had primary physical custody of their children.

Due to this, the court ordered him to pay her $50 per week in child support.

Not long after this stipulation was put in place, his ex came up with the plan for her to claim their two children on her taxes rather than having him pay $50 a week. In her view, it was easier that way and equaled out to the same amount of money, and he agreed to this.

In June 2022, he had custody of his children, who are now teenagers.

His ex was engaged, and her fiancé was arrested on assault charges, as well as charges related to child endangerment.

Tragically, one of his daughters was the victim of his ex’s fiancé.

After the arrest, CPS removed their children from his ex’s and placed them with him. His ex faced neglect charges, and she pled guilty.

Despite the abuse his ex’s fiancé inflicted on their daughter, she is still engaged to him.

“When the court paperwork all went through, and I had the new custody orders in hand, I petitioned the court for child support. I was getting zero help for the last 12 months from my ex. In fact, she was doing everything in her power to make my life a nightmare. Nothing new for me. What shocked me, however, was when I had my court appearance for the child support petition, I was informed that my ex’s lawyer had a violation put against me for back child support,” he said.

According to his ex, she never received anything from him in child support.

“Since our divorce to now, she’s saying I owe $18,000 in arrears. The proposal from her lawyer is to wash my arrears away if I withdraw my child support petition,” he explained.

He now has a trial date on the 30th of this month. His ex works as a hairdresser, and their hometown is small.

One day, their daughter’s therapist informed him that his ex has been claiming to her clients (among whom are their daughter’s teachers) that their daughter is “acting crazy and being overdramatic about things that happened.”

Hearing this was the breaking point for him. For so long, he’d been trying to remain the better person throughout the entire divorce and its aftermath for years after.

“So, I took to good ol’ Facebook and made a public service announcement on how the family court system is garbage and explained why I thought so by telling my story,” he shared.

He didn’t include anything about their daughter so that her privacy was protected. However, he clearly illustrated his ex-wife’s character, as well as her fiancé’s. Upon reflection, he’s not sure if he should have made the Facebook post.
