Her Sister-In-Law Gives Her Gone Girl Vibes And She’s So Scared Of Her That She Wants To Cut Her Out Of Her Life

This 29-year-old woman has a sister-in-law who is 34, and she’s so scared of her that she wants to cut her out of her life.
Her sister-in-law is married to her brother and has been for the last 5 years, though they have been in a relationship for a bit under a decade in total.
From the instant she met her sister-in-law, she thought she was off, and she has never liked her at all.
“Truthfully, she’s always given me Amy Dunne from Gone Girl type of vibes,” she explained. “She’s attractive and smart but has zero friends.”
“That’s not an exaggeration. Zero friends. She only associates with people to use them, and she’s good at it too (she thinks nobody notices this), but she’s too good to actually be friends with anyone.”
“They are always having big arguments. One moment, he’s going to get divorce papers drawn up, and then the next day, they’re like the most sickeningly cutesy in-love couple in the world. I don’t get it. Seriously, they’re on the verge of divorce at least once a week, and that isn’t an exaggeration.”
She knows that her sister-in-law has put her hands on her brother, and she also knows she once got so angry about something small that she ruined her brother’s things, like his computer, before chasing him with a kitchen knife.
Over the weekend, she was at her mom and dad’s business helping them run the front of the house when her brother came racing in to say that his wife was insane.
She and her family knew what he meant, but then, right behind her brother, came her sister-in-law, screaming that she was going to kill him.

Her sister-in-law did this in front of customers, and she was yelling at the top of her lungs. Customers stopped and stared, horrified, and as soon as her sister-in-law noticed that all eyes were on her, she instantly calmed down, stopped speaking, and walked out of the business.
Apparently, her sister-in-law thought her brother was cheating with a coworker, so she questioned her brother about this.
He said he wasn’t cheating, but he had some conversations with a girl at work that weren’t appropriate, and he also bought her a present, and her sister-in-law discovered this.
“She also lies just for the fun of it. The worst was when she convinced him she had been diagnosed with a possibly fatal disease, and he went into full “we’ll do whatever we have to do to get you the best treatment” mode, was calling around to specialists, doing all this research…then he finally called her actual doctor and the doctor had no clue what my brother was talking about,” she said.
“He had been distraught, called me sobbing that she was dying. For her, it was a good laugh and an “oops.” To me, people act like this because they’re either pure trash or they are mentally very unwell. This woman is educated and went to private schools. She is mentally unstable, I’m sure. Now I’m assuming my brother is just as unhealthy as her because he stays with her.”
“I am considering putting some boundaries in place regarding my sister-in-law and my brother for my own sanity. I need some help coming up with realistic boundaries. How do I limit this woman’s presence in my life without completely alienating my brother? I’ve never had to create serious boundaries like this with family before.”
