The Guy That She Was Dating Slept With Another Woman At A Wedding, And He Says It’s Because The Bride And Groom Pressured Him

This 28-year-old woman spent the last 9 months dating this 30-year-old guy named Tom, and they talk on the phone every single day.
Prior to dating Tom, she had just gotten out of a terrible relationship last year, and it didn’t cross her mind that she could find someone that she had a genuine connection with.
But then, she met Tom on a dating app, and she figured they would have a little fling. It turned into more than that, though, and they started hanging out as well as sleeping over, which made her trust him.
Throughout the months they spent dating, they each experienced a lot by way of their health, their careers, and their respective families.
Despite that, they supported one another, and she thought it was lovely to have a man to rely on to help her through the tough times.
Their chemistry was off the charts, their conversations were wonderful, and she was overjoyed to know that she could form such a wonderful connection with a man.
They went out on dates regularly, she met a few of his friends, and she was on cloud nine.
“I will admit, we have been in a grey zone,” she explained. “There was a mutual understanding that neither of us were talking to or sleeping with anyone else. I trusted him.”
“So cut to this past weekend – he goes out of town to his friend’s wedding. Normally, he would call me when he got back to his hotel room or in the morning when he woke up.”

“He didn’t. I texted him to make sure he was alive, and then he called me when he was heading to the airport. We talked a few times a day from Sunday to Tuesday.”
By Tuesday evening, she was incredibly anxious and knew in her heart Tom had slept with another woman while at this wedding.
When she spoke to him on the phone that night, she asked him outright if he had hooked up with anyone there, and he didn’t lie to her.
It turns out that he had slept with another woman at the wedding, and she was horrified. He tried to say he did not want to spill all the details, as that would “ruin everything,” and she hung up the phone in tears.
The following morning, she requested that he call her since she did want to hear the details of what went down at the wedding.
“Apparently, his friend (who knew we had been seeing each other, whom I’d talked to before) and his fiancée had set up a whole thing for Tom,” she said.
“When Tom got to the reception, he said they had seated him next to the girl. Tom said they didn’t really talk much until the after-party. Everyone went back to a hotel room, and they were all drinking a lot of tequila. He told me that she asked her back to her hotel room, and he agreed.”
He slept with her, blaming the pressure from his friends as to why he caved. He sobbed as he relayed all of this to her over the phone.
Tom also told her that he was willing to do anything it took to keep her in his life. He even told her to give him a list of things she wanted him to do, and he would make sure to follow through.
He said sorry nonstop to her, and it honestly was the most heartbreaking phone call she has ever experienced in her life.
“Now I don’t know what to do,” she continued. “I told him I needed to not talk to him for I don’t know how long. But I sincerely care about him and love him so much.”
“Is it worth having him in my life as a friend? I feel like I have cut so many people off in the past, and it kills me to do that. Genuinely, like I don’t know if I can with him. Would you forgive him? And is it my fault for not pushing the “exclusive” talk? Is it my fault we weren’t technically boyfriend/girlfriend? I hate dating in 2023, it’s such a [disaster]. Please help.”
