Thanksgiving is just about here, but if you’re looking for a last-minute, easy appetizer to add to the menu, look no further.

When hosting a larger group of people or extra friends or relatives, you may need to consider having some appetizers for people to snack on while waiting for the main event, the turkey and sides, to come out of the oven.

There are so many small plates and appetizer recipes to choose from, and we’ve found one that looks both delicious and super easy to prepare, thanks to one TikTok creator!

Dee (@deeslittlekitchn) is a cook from Queens, New York, who shares delicious recipes on her TikTok page.

She’s currently releasing videos as part of her Thanksgiving series, where she shares recipes that don’t involve turkey.

One of the recipes is for her Cranberry and Prosciutto Whipped Ricotta Crostini, which are an excellent choice for a Thanksgiving appetizer.

Here’s how to make them!

Cranberry and Prosciutto Whipped Ricotta Crostini

Ingredients:

  • Crostini
  • Whipped Ricotta
  • Cranberry Sauce
  • Prosciutto di Parma
  • Hot honey or balsamic glaze
  • Arugula

To begin making these delicious crostini, you’ll want to start by preparing the crostini yourself by slicing a baguette, placing the slices on a foil-lined baking sheet, spreading each slice with a bit of olive oil, topping them with salt and pepper, and then baking them in a 425-degree oven until they’re nice and crispy.

While baking your crostini, add a small tub of your favorite ricotta cheese to a food processor with a drizzle of hot honey and some salt and pepper. Next, blend your cheese in your food processor until it’s nice, smooth, and fluffy, leaving you with ‘whipped ricotta!’

Now, it’s time to assemble your crostini. Take a slice of your crostini and smooth out a layer of whipped ricotta on top. You can do this by spreading it out with a knife or getting fancy and piping it on with a piping bag.

Next, top it with your favorite cranberry sauce or cranberry preserves, a slice or two of prosciutto, and a drizzle of hot honey or balsamic glaze. Finally, add a little piece of arugula across the top of your crostini for a nice green garnish.

And that’s it! You’ll be left with an appetizer with a crunchy, sweet, and salty bite that’s sure to please your Thanksgiving guests. Enjoy!
