This 50-year-old woman’s son, 25, got engaged to his fiancée, 31, after dating for only a year.

Because of this, she isn’t supportive of their recent engagement.

Unfortunately, she also doesn’t like her son’s fiancée.

Her son is employed, but he doesn’t make enough money to provide for a family.

Right now, her son is living with her and her husband, 55.

His fiancée also lives at home with her parents, but she doesn’t have a job at the moment.

Apparently, her son said that after they get married, he will be moving in with his fiancée and her parents.

“I met her at her parents’ house, and she was very rude to them, yelling, calling them stupid, and bossing them around, behaving like a 16-year-old,” she said.

This was deeply troubling behavior.

His fiancée’s parents seemed like really kind people, so she didn’t understand what was going on.

She expressed her honest thoughts with her son, and he didn’t react favorably.

“He accused me of treating him like a child and insisted that he’s an adult who can make his own decisions,” she explained.

While she acknowledged that he was right about being an adult who should have the ability to choose how to live his life, she felt like she should be able to share how she feels about his decisions and let him know when she thinks he might be making a mistake.

She grew more concerned about her son’s relationship when she found out that her son’s fiancée told him that she was positive he has Borderline Personality Disorder, even though she isn’t a therapist.

“We’ve never seen signs of BPD in him, but she insists he has it. He hasn’t seen a therapist but continues to tell people he has BPD,” she shared.

Understandably, this upsets her because he doesn’t have an official diagnosis from a medical professional; he’s only blindly agreeing with what his fiancée told him.

Later, she told her son that she was worried about the idea of him getting married to his fiancée.

He brushed her off, calling her a “‘hater'” who didn’t support his decisions even though, in his view, she had no reason to act negatively about his engagement.

Now, she wonders if she was wrong for how she reacted and if her son was accurate in claiming she wasn’t supportive.

She doesn’t know if she has the right to feel upset or if she’s being overdramatic.

On the other hand, she thinks there have been a lot of warning signs throughout her son’s relationship with his fiancée.

What would you have done if you were in her shoes?
