One time, TikToker Kaia (@kaiasuniversee) went out on a first date with a guy, and he tried to steal a car during their date. What happened was they went bar hopping, and he seemed normal at first.
“It was very much like a typical first date,” said Kaia. “He has a very Miami vibe about him, where he was really bragging about money and how much he makes at work and how much money his family has, which I feel like is very typical for Miami, so I was like, whatever.”
At one point, they walked past a building that was also a hotel. He told her that his family has a place there, so they could stop in for drinks.
While they were in the elevator, he also informed her that his family sometimes rented the place out on Airbnb, so someone might be staying there.
She had planned on meeting up with her roommate and her friends anyway, so if someone was there, they could just leave. When they got to the right floor, she waited by the elevators as he knocked on the door.
It was 1 a.m., and a guy angrily opened the door. Kaia’s date said that they were there to clean the place. The guy slammed the door in his face.
They went to meet up with her friends. Suddenly, her date said that he had left something behind at the hotel and wanted to go back. He was getting pretty antsy.
Kaia questioned him, as there didn’t seem to be any reason for him to go back. But he was super insistent that he needed something from that place. After some back and forth, he ended up calling an Uber.
She decided to accompany him just because she wanted to know what would happen. When they arrived, she waited by the elevators again.

He typed in a code and entered the room. Five minutes later, he emerged, carrying no belongings. Apparently, his stuff wasn’t there. But he had taken a picture of the guy sleeping on the couch, which Kaia thought was super creepy.
Once they got downstairs, she decided to end the date and meet up with her friends again. He offered to drive her and gave his ticket to the valet guy.
However, he was unsure if he was able to drive because of how much he drank. When a Jeep Wrangler pulled up, Kaia told the driver to re-park it.
Her date said that it was the Airbnb guy’s car. Kaia was shocked that he had planned to steal someone’s car to drunkenly drive her home. He claimed that the guy wouldn’t have noticed.
Eventually, Kaia left, convinced that her date was not mentally sound. The next day, he sent a picture of himself at breakfast with the Airbnb guy. Somehow, he had convinced him to let him stay the night. Then, he invited Kaia out so that all three of them could hang out. Of course, she declined.
“I’m still so perplexed, like how did he get that Airbnb guy to go? ” Kaia questioned. “Was I in on some front where they’re going to traffic me, like what was happening there?”
