Some people really pick the craziest things to blow up over. What would you do if your partner decided to freak out on you over your underwear, of all things?

This 24-year-old girl had a 28-year-old boyfriend, with whom she had been with for six months. One Sunday, she went to visit her little brothers, who are 14 and 7.

She hadn’t seen her older brother in several years and actually never had the opportunity to meet her youngest, so she was thrilled.

She asked her boyfriend to come with her, since she tends to get lost, and thought it would be cool for him to see her siblings, too. Her boyfriend mentioned that he would drive her there, but didn’t want to meet her brothers.

“We stayed on the phone as I excitedly looked for clothes to wear. I had just washed clothes, and I hadn’t folded them up yet, so I was just digging through the bag for what I needed without dumping all of the contents,” she explained.

She picked out her outfit and found a pair of underwear that had minimal coverage. She described her underwear to her boyfriend, who said it was strange for her to wear that if she was going to see her little brothers.

“I told him I wore them whenever during the entire duration of us being together, and I brush him off, telling him don’t make something weird that isn’t. We eventually move on and hang up.”

At 4 p.m., she then called her boyfriend to see if he was ready to take her to see her brothers. He responded that he wasn’t, and told her to wait for him or go by herself.

She was upset that her boyfriend had hours to be on time yet wasn’t, and he snapped at her that she was an adult who could get there on her own.

She hung up the phone, but tried to call him back to get an apology out of him. She stated that she wasn’t angry about him being late; she was hurt that he was pretending not to care.

Her boyfriend said he would not say sorry, and she decided to hang up again and leave to go see her brothers. She set out to her brothers’ house and texted her boyfriend, who yelled at her for her underwear again and insisted he wasn’t going to meet her.

“We get on the phone, he’s told him I don’t respect him bc he told me not to wear those underwear, which he never did, and I told him that, and that this is controlling behavior. He calls me all kinds of names. I then do the same thing,” she added.

“I end up telling him I can’t do this anymore. That I understand he doesn’t care for me the way he said he does, and I can’t keep allowing him to show me that. I had gotten lost, and it was dark out, and I had my 4-year-old out with me.”

“And my phone was going to die. I then told him to have a good night and stopped responding. I eventually found my way to my brother’s home, and we hung out for a little while.”

Her boyfriend called her six times in a row, which she declined to answer. When she was done visiting with her brothers, she walked into the hallway of their house, and her boyfriend was standing right there with his five-year-old.

Her boyfriend had the address, so that’s how she showed up in the first place. She didn’t say anything to him, but got in his car, and he drove her home.

He came into her house, she made dinner, and she fed their kids. She continued to give him the silent treatment, and he attempted to make conversation.

She only allowed him to stay over because it was late into the evening, freezing outside, and his five-year-old had to get up early to go to school the following morning. The next day, her boyfriend dropped his five-year-old off at school and returned to her house.

“He tries to speak to me, cuddle me, etc. I don’t respond, he then packs all his things and leaves. I text him and ask him why he is acting like nothing happened, no apology, nothing, you just left. He responded by saying he’s going to take a break from all of this.”

“I told him now that’s fine, I’m not some option that he can pick and choose, and I don’t wanna be in a relationship with him anymore. He never responded.”

She’s left wondering if she’s wrong for dumping her boyfriend over her underwear.

I mean, I can’t believe her underwear was the hill he was ready to die on. He’s being controlling and crazy for trying to police her undergarments.

What, is she only allowed to leave the house in granny panties? She did the right thing letting him go after he made an issue out of literally nothing.
