TikToker Michael (@mikeygrimm13) shares dark and paranormal stories, and he has one submission from a follower about how a strange man followed him through the woods during a camping trip.
Back in 2016, a 25-year-old Wall Street banker named Matt decided to go on a solo camping trip near Mount Rainier in Washington.
Everything was normal enough during his first day. He set up his tent in a quiet clearing, lit a small fire, had some dinner, and went to bed.
But around midnight, he woke up out of nowhere and saw movement outside his tent. At first, he thought it was just an animal, but the sound was way too deliberate. It sounded like the footsteps of a human.
Matt slowly reached over and unzipped his tent by just a few inches. He saw a man sitting in front of the fire pit, staring into the dying embers.
The man looked up as if he felt Matt watching him. They locked eyes, and the man immediately sprinted into the woods without saying a single word.
Matt jumped out of the tent and shone his flashlight into the woods. But nothing and no one was there. It was absolutely silent.
The next morning, he packed up his gear and hiked deeper into the woods. He traveled 15 miles before fully setting up camp again in another clearing.
That night, he was sitting by the fire when he heard slow-moving footsteps crunching on leaves behind him at the edge of the tree line.

A voice drifted in from the darkness, asking, “Do you know how to get to Bell’s Canyon?”
Matt’s heart dropped in fear. He had the feeling that the voice belonged to the same man he had seen sitting by the fire earlier. He told the man that he didn’t know where that was.
The man was silent for a moment. But then, he repeated the question, and he sounded even closer this time. His voice was also sharper and more forceful.
Matt grabbed his flashlight and pointed it toward the trees. That same man was half-hidden behind one of the trees, watching him.
Then, Matt heard the voice again, even closer than before. He whipped around and saw the man standing just a few feet away from him.
The man bolted back into the woods again and disappeared. Of course, Matt couldn’t sleep at all. Exhaustion finally won out, and he fell asleep at 3 a.m.
When the sun rose, he packed up and started heading back to his car. Unfortunately, he did not make it to his car before nightfall, so he had to camp out again.
In the middle of the night, he woke up to the sound of footsteps circling his tent. They continued all night long. Matt clutched his knife, not even daring to breathe.
Just before sunrise, the footsteps stopped. Matt packed up and ran, but he ended up having to set up camp again, and the same thing happened that night, along with the voice asking if he knew how to get to Bell’s Canyon. Finally, he made it to his car the next morning.
“Somehow, over the course of three days, this man followed him for over 30 miles through dense forest with no gear, no light, no sound, and the only thing that he ever said was, ‘Do you know how to get to Bell’s Canyon?'” concluded Michael.
