When TikToker Jackie (@jackie.0436) matched with a cute guy named Andy on a dating app, she never expected to find herself trapped in a moving car with him while he enthusiastically performed a one-man yodeling concert for her.
Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened. Initially, Andy was super nice and responsive. They exchanged about 100 messages, which had never happened before to Jackie.
For their first date, they met up at a juice bar chain. She was excited and optimistic about the date, but her hopes were shattered once she arrived. When she showed up, he still wasn’t there. She waited 20 minutes before he finally walked in.
He looked exactly like his pictures, so she took that as a good sign. But after they ordered their juices, he suggested something that she was not expecting. He wanted to show her something in his car.
“At this point, I’m prepared to be flashed because if I walk in there, that’s on me,” said Jackie. “But either way, I walk into the car, and he puts his hand deep into his pocket and pulls out an old cassette tape.”
He put the cassette tape in, and as soon as it started playing, she had so many questions. It was an instructional tape about how to yodel. He found it at a thrift store, and he had been practicing.
Before she could hop out of the car, he started the engine and drove off, yodeling and making wild hand gestures. He hit one note so loudly that he smacked his hand on the roof of the car.
He yelped in pain, and she thought he might have broken his finger. He was unable to steer and asked her to take over.
So, she maneuvered the steering wheel from the passenger seat as he continued to yodel. They were headed toward an intersection, and his foot was still on the accelerator. Her life flashed before her eyes. She yelled for him to stop the car, but he complained that his thumb hurt.

Finally, he slammed on the brakes, and the car skidded to a stop. Somehow, he ended up hitting his hand again, injuring his other fingers. Jackie let go of the steering wheel and demanded that he drop her off at the juice bar.
He was still yodeling, and they were almost at the juice bar. She was about to be free from this terrible date when he suddenly drove right past it because he wanted to finish the song.
When the cassette tape ended, he stopped the car and pulled the tape out. They were at least two miles away from the juice bar.
She jumped out of the car and made the 30-minute trek back to the juice bar. The walk gave her plenty of time to reflect on the state of the dating pool.
