Wireless Road Mice Review

roadmice 300x225 Wireless Road Mice Review Everyone these days is hung up on making sure that a mouse is ergonomic or optical or even just fashionable. So it’s nice when a mouse is made that isn’t necessarily any of those things but just FUN. Road Mice offers a wide range of mice that are shaped as cars. Not just boring fake looking cars either, but ones that resemble a ChevyZ06 Corvette, Dodge Charger SRT8 Patrol Car, Chevy Camaro Concept, and a Ford Mustang GT.

When we first received the wireless Ford Mustang GT mouse we weren’t quite sure what to expect. But upon opening the package, we could tell that this was going to be one fun mouse. The Black Ford Mustang GT is classic and timeless, so I was impressed to see that the design is better them most die cast model cars you can purchase assembled. It is well built and seems like it can last a while. Another nice feature is when you left or right click on the mouse, blue LED’s activate the headlights. Depending on which button you click or even if you click it together it lights up. The set up was very easy, it comes with instructions and is plug and play. Just plug in the USB wireless receiver into your USB port and insert the batteries included and you are basically done.

The only issue I had with the mouse, like with any car is that there was difficulty going sideways if the wheels don’t turn. The wheels seem to be made of rubber and as realistic as that is, when you move the mouse from left to right you feel the friction in the wheels. The mouse has the easiest time rolling around your desk in a big circle or just going forwards and backwards. It doesn’t work well if you are looking for a consistent motion. I was trying to put a spreadsheet together just to test its functionality if used on a day to day basis and it was slowing me down. I will say that it is comfortable in my hand. Since it is longer then a regular mouse and is the shape of a car I can almost rest my whole hand on it. Rather then a regular mouse where the base of my hand is on the desk.

Conclusion:

This is a great purchase for any car/tech enthusiast for the holidays. The details and light effects are a nice touch and the fact that it is comfortable to use is a plus. If you expect to do heavy multi-tasking on it then you will crash and burn. However if you are going to use it to scroll websites and simple left or right clicks here and there then it does the job just fine. The Road Mice retail for $44.95.

The Good: Perfect gift for car enthusiasts. Attention to detail for the mouse is great and the light effects are a plus.

The Bad: Can’t really be used for mouse intensive work. Hard time moving the mouse side ways because of wheels.

Besides answering machines, when I did get a response, they said “on back order” I said change for anything, any mouse at all in stock will do… but still nothing!!! Obviously they have no stock and not a legitimate business. They take take your money and deliver nothing!! DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!!
