The HunterGather selection of cases may not be exactly made of wood, but it surely was inspired by it. The cases are made for the iPhone 3G, iPhone 3G S, and also in the form of a laptop sleeve. Each one has the details of wood bark, and they are a signature design of both St. John and collaborator Gary Benzel who created the woodgrain pattern and have applied it to these latest creations, as well as to furniture and skateboard decks. The design of the cases may look like a piece of wood but the quality of the Incase Slider is very much intact as well as the 15″ Sleeve for the MacBook Pro. The entire HunterGather Line is available today with the iPhone 3G/3G S cases retailing for $49.95, and the HunterGatherer Sleeve is retailing for $59.95.

I haven’t seen this “wooden” case in the store yet, but you definitely made me curious. Although I am skeptical, why would it be cooler to have a phone that looks like wood than a phone hat looks like a really nice iPhone?
