Unsurprisingly, AT&T isn’t going to stand idly by while Verizon finally gets its hands on the beloved iPhone. On the heels of the announcement that it is acquiring T-Mobile USA, AT&T has revealed that it has a new tantalizing exclusive on its hands: the LG Thrill 4G. What’s so thrilling about it? Well, it’s the first smartphone to be released in the States that offers glasses-free 3D. But it doesn’t stop there. You can actually record video and take pictures in 3D, too. On your smartphone. Admittedly, that is pretty thrilling.
Those 3D capabilities are enabled by a dual 5-megapixel stereoscopic camera and a 4.3 inch stereoscopic 3D display. 3D recording will be possible at 720p and 2D at full HD 1080p. The Thrill will be running on Android 2.2 Froyo, but it’s unclear whether or not any Gingerbread upgrades will be available in the future. But, how are you going to find the as of yet limited 3D offerings available on the web? LG’s making it easy with the LG 3D Space, which provides you with quick access to 3D games, YouTube videos, and images. Nothing wrong with a few shortcuts!
With features like an HDMI port and, of course, 4G compatibility with AT&T’s HSPA+ network, the powerful Thrill looks to be quite a promising prospect for AT&T customers. For those on-board with the latest 3D craze, this looks to be a must. The LG Thrill 4G will be available (in full 3D!) sometime from AT&T in the next couple months.
