If you have an iPhone, you’re probably pretty happy with it. It’s an incredible piece of technology. But, it’s not without its flaws – one of which is the lack of a native download manager. Digital Poke has just released their solution to that problem, and it’s a robust one. For $1.99, you can grab the Meteoric Download Manager from the iTunes App Store, and download just about anything downloadable from the Web in one easy to manage place.

Meteoric has the ability to grab all iOS compatible media from whatever sites you browse, and download it quickly to your phone. From there, you can zip or unzip files, listen to music via the built-in media player, or stream your files to any device connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Another great piece of news – background downloading is possible, so you won’t be locked into the app until your downloads are done. The app also works with Dropbox, so you can immediately upload your new files to your Dropbox account. You can also import Firefox information from your desktop, like bookmarks and history. The promise of a one-stop place to download attachments from emails, videos from streaming sites, or free mp3s scattered across the Web is a bold and tantalizing one for iPhone users. The UI is streamlined and simple to use, too – if you’re a downloading fiend, the low $1.99 price point just might be worth it for you.
