Tim Tebow might be having trouble passing muster in the NFL, but there’s no question that when he was a Gator, he owned Florida. Jacksonville isn’t too far from Gainesville and the University of Florida campus, so Tim Tebow’s return as a member of the New York Jets taking on the hometown Jacksonville Jaguars was something of a homecoming.
The college standout received what I suppose is a hero’s welcome last Sunday – a 75-person flash mob organized by Soul Headphones, who are coming out with a line of headphones in cooperation with Tebow. The dancers blasted Gangnam Style and LMFAO’s Sexy and I Know It, among others, and provided the corresponding dances.
The flash mob was probably more entertaining than the game, which turned out to be a low-scoring effort from two of the league’s most abject teams. Tim Tebow wasn’t even a lock to suit up for the game, dealing with broken ribs that had kept him out for two weeks. Tebow was active, but never entered the game.
