G-Shock came prepared for their Shock the World event last week in New York City, with product announcements for all of their lines. That includes G-Shock’s line for women, Baby-G, which will see three new models hitting stores before the year is up.
Baby-G, which has always successfully toed a fine line between practicality and fashion, is looking a little more like the other G-Shock watches with this release, although the Baby-G touch is definitely still there. The rugged watches will come in four colors – translucent (OK, I guess that’s not really a color), black, white, and platinum. Then, the Baby-G part comes in – the watch faces of the first release of the year, the Baby-G BA110, will feature gold, rose gold, and silver brushed onto the watch faces, for a touch of elegance.
At the event, Jessica Stam, a Canadian model, was one of many celebrities showing off the new Baby-G watch and talking up their long-time admiration of the brand, which turned 30 this year.
If you’re looking to score a new model for this year, though, you might want to hold tight. The other two, BA111 and BA 112, will be hitting stores in October and November, respectively, which will feature metallic colors and jewel-like colors with multiple tones. The BA110 is available now.
