Michael Bay’s Samsung CES Appearance Ends in Fiery Explosion of Shame

No heroics of Optimus Prime could save Michael Bay from himself at CES. Appearing at the Samsung booth to help plug their new, massive 105” curved UHD television, Bay had to excuse himself from the stage with all due haste after flubbing his lines and finding himself unable to continue, suddenly finding himself on the other side of the director’s chair.

If you love awkward public moments, this video is for you. If you want, you can turn it into a drinking game by taking a drink every time you need to switch browser tabs while the video is running because you can’t bear to look anymore. It’s a short video, but you might be surprised at how many drinks you’ll need to quaff. Bay actually seems to be alright at the beginning, but once he goes off the rails and loses track of the teleprompter, things get ugly in a hurry.

To his credit, Bay acknowledged his shame on his blog later, saying ‘Wow! I just embarrassed myself at CES.’ He went on to suggest that live shows are probably not his strong suit, but he did want to get the important message across – that Samsung’s new 105” curved UHD televisions are going to make ‘Transformers 4′ look really, really, really good.
