We’ve seen more than a few collaborations between pop culture brands and cosmetics companies recently, but we’ve now stumbled across news that the United States has been missing out on the good stuff. Korean brand The Face Shop has been showing everyone up with tons of partnerships.
You’ll have to look on their site to check out the collections, but fair warning — if you don’t speak Korean, you’ll probably want to make extensive use of Google Translate. They do have an English-language international site, but you won’t find any of these collections there.
Instead, you’ll have to navigate the Korean site to find their pop culture collections. They have at least 20 items in their Marvel Mania collection, which appears to cover everything from cosmetics to body and hair products. They’ve also got beauty masks patterned after Darth Vader and a stormtrooper helmet, plus masks and and a handful of other summer products based on The Simpsons. They’ve even got Disney and Dreamworks collections — the former looks like a lot of foundation based on Disney princesses and a few other charatcers, while the latter covers Trolls and Kung-Fu Panda.
The Face Shop has opened some locations in California and Canada, but it doesn’t look like any of the pop culture stuff made it over. Still, it’s not like there’s a lack of options — a Japanese company started making Marvel face masks, and we did just have that Simpsons collaboration with MAC and the Star Wars collaboration with Covergirl. There are Korean beauty resellers you can try to buy some of these products from, too, depending on how far down the rabbit hole you’ve gone or are wanting to go.
