With all their movie tie-ins, Lego has become a mainstay at comics conventions, and it seems like they’ve come to understand the scene pretty well. Their BrickHeadz line — big-eyed buildable figurines that could be compared to Funko Pops — has provided fertile ground for convention exclusives before, and it’s proving true for this year’s New York Comic-Con, too. Lego is all about Star Wars this year, with BrickHeadz of Boba Fett and Han Solo encased in carbonite.
Boba Fett and his quarry will come together in one set that includes 329 pieces. The decorated pieces, including the electronic panels on the side of the carbonite and some of the pieces on Boba Fett’s helmet, are all unique to this set, making it a true collector’s item. Both come with Lego display bases with printed tiles made just to commemorate New York Comic-Con 2017.
If you want the set, you know the drill — either show up to New York Comic-Con this weekend (with $40 in hand) or brave the reseller market. If you’re an avid Star Wars or Lego collector, you’ll probably want to do one of the two — if nothing else, because big-headed Lego Han Solo frozen in pained grimace looks pretty hilarious.
