Yeah, you read the headline right. You’d be forgiven for being concerned over an unexpected animated miniseries for a beloved franchise in Lego form, but trust us, there’s no need. The top people from all companies are involved in Frozen Northern Lights, a new story that will span a series of books and a four-part animated Lego miniseries that will hit the Disney Channel in the fall.
All we know about the story is that something got messed up with the Northern Lights, and it’s on our Frozen friends to go figure out what’s up. The story will bring the whole group back, including Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff and Sven, but that’s no surprise for an animated story. What we’re really happy to hear is that the whole original voice cast will be back for the miniseries. Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, and Josh Gad will all reprise their roles, but now in Lego form thanks to a partnership between Disney and Lego.
We’re not sure exactly when the four-part miniseries will premiere, only that it will be in the fall. Disney will be drumming up hype this summer with a series of books, starting with Disney Frozen Northern Lights: Journey to the Lights, which will go on sale sometime next month. According to People, that book will introduce a new character named Little Rock, who I’m sure will be good for a song or two. I don’t know, we’re pretty much sold regardless — combine Disney and Lego, and it’s not like we’re going to say no.
