Last December marked the 30th anniversary of the release of the first Final Fantasy, a game that ended up having one of the most ill-fitting names ever! 30 years later, we’ve got 15 games in the main series plus who knows how many other side stories, spinoffs, and sequels. Artist Stephanie Sybydlo decided to celebrate the occasion in a way we love — by celebrating the female characters from throughout the series’ history. She’s done one from each game, and as you’ll see, her skills are just as memorable as the characters she draws! Here’s her series starting with the oldest games, and if you’d like to see more of her work, be sure to check her out on DeviantArt, Tumblr, and Twitter!
She had a lot of freedom to interpret Princess Sarah from Final Fantasy I, and she did an unbelievable job!
Final Fantasy II was kind of rough, but Maria was pretty rad!
