She Went Viral After Her Fiancé Signed A Legal Document Stating That If He Cheats, He Has To Pay All Her Bills

When most people enter relationships or even full-blown marriages, they just have to trust that their partner will not cheat.

But, for one TikTok user named Chaylene, this act of good faith just was not enough.

So, after recently getting engaged to her fiancé, Chaylene took to TikTok to share her somewhat crazy but also kind of brilliant plan to ensure that she never gets stabbed in the back.

“I have just reached a new level of crazy,” she began, “I just made– well, I did not make, he did it out of his own free will– but my fiancé just signed a legal document, and we got it notarized.”

Then, Chaylene held up the document and explained what it entailed.

“If he ever cheats on me, he has to pay my bills… So if he ever cheats on me, he’s screwed!” she said.

“I’m so smart or crazy, I don’t know,” Chaylene added.

The TikTok detailing her legally-binding cheating document, which was posted on her account @Salamiiqueen, has since gone totally viral– garnering over 8.1 million views, gaining 1.9 million likes, and spurring over fourteen thousand comments.

But, it has also utterly divided the TikTok community.

Some people believe that Chaylene’s idea was ingenious and literally applauded her thought process.

“This is by far the smartest thing I have ever heard,” commented one user.

“You have unlocked a part of the brain that not many people have access to,” joked a second.

“If he is not willing to sign something like this, then he already knows he will cheat. Smart girl,” suggested a third.

Nonetheless, other TikTok users think that the document is telling of Chaylene’s faith in her marriage.

“No trust already. Setting it up for failure…” wrote one user.

“Bro, where has trust gone these days? Now he is just going to be scared to cheat because of the prenup instead of not cheating out of love for you…” asked another commenter.

“If you feel like you need to do this, then you don’t need to get married,” said a third.

And all of this hate actually prompted Chaylene to create a more in-depth follow-up TikTok. There, she described how her past experiences had pushed her to take this extreme action in order to feel comfortable moving forward in marriage.

“We were making up some documents because I do have some trust issues. I financially have been screwed over so many times that I just– when it comes to money– I get scared, and I don’t trust easily about it,” she explained.

“So, since we are now engaged and doing things financially together, I just wanted both of us to have our backs. And we thought it would be a great idea to make sure that we both make some agreements and sign them together,” Chaylene continued.

And while the couple was making up these documents, she apparently made a joke to her fiancé about basically including a “cheating clause.” So, he actually did.

“I think it was super romantic and cute and cheesy, and it was literally just a joke. It’s not that deep, and it was just a cute little gesture that he did in our agreement,” Chaylene said.

Plus, she also underscored that any girl who wants to do it has a right to and is not crazy.

“Guess what? People cheat all the time, and girls waste their time. And time is money,” she added. Well said, Charlene.

And the TikTok community thought so, too– because this follow-up video gained another twenty-two thousand likes and prompted hundreds more supportive comments.

“This will now forever be my new standard. I will NOT settle!” wrote one user.

“Good for you, girl!” added a second.

Do you think that including a “cheating clause” before marriage is a smart way to go? Would you ever do this before tying the knot?
