She Flew 8 Hours To See Her Friend That She Has A Crush On, But When They Went Out To Dinner Everything Got Really Weird
A 28-year-old girl has a 33-year-old guy friend named Jason, and she has been close with him for a number of years.
She originally met Jason when they were back in college together, and they wound up hanging out with the same friends.
After they graduated, Jason went back to Canada, as that’s where he is from. Although they have not spent any time together in person since, they did spend a lot of time speaking to one another almost every day.
“I always had strong feelings for Jason after we spent hours a day talking,” she explained. “I adored this guy – thought he was intelligent, funny, and endearing, and I got the feeling he felt the same way.”
“He invited me to visit him, and I agreed as I’ve always wanted to check out his city. Booked my flight and Airbnb and flew over.”
So, she gets to Canada, and an entire week goes by without her getting to hang out with Jason.
She reached out to him to see when he would be free to spend time with her, and he got back to her saying they should grab dinner and drinks with one of his female friends that she didn’t know.
She said yes to this, and when she arrived at the restaurant that night to meet up with Jason and his friend, the pair had already finished eating when she walked through the door.
Jason and his friend were sitting in a booth side by side, so she sat down in the booth across from them. An hour into hanging out with Jason and his friend, everything started getting strange.

“They began facing each other, flirting with each other and ignoring me,” she said. “Every time I tried to signal to leave, Jason would order me another drink on his tab. But he wasn’t speaking to me at all. Jason then began throwing coasters and ice cubes at me randomly. I felt humiliated.”
“We finish up, and I’m heading back to my Airbnb when the girl asks me back to her apartment with them. I said yes, since Jason and I have barely spoken since I arrived. The same thing happened there.”
“I’m ignored, and then Jason starts throwing random stuff at me. I was about to leave, and he asked me to come out onto the balcony with him. I did so. I told him I’ve been asked on a date with someone in the city, and he said nothing. He suddenly full-on sprinted inside and left me alone on the balcony. Seriously, what. Is. Happening.”
She then questioned Jason about when he would be leaving this girl’s place to go home, and he informed her that he was actually sleeping over.
This only made her feel even worse, as remember, she had a crush on Jason, and here she was all the way from home just to be able to spend time with him.
At that point, she decided it was time for her to call it a night and be done with the craziness. Jason never acknowledged that she was leaving, and he also did not say goodbye to her either. He just sat there on his phone.
It was 2 in the morning when she decided to exit this girl’s apartment, so there she was, walking all by herself.
On her way back, Jason did send her a text to get back to where she was staying safely. She then chose to kind of confront Jason about what had just gone down.
“I ask him if I just third wheeled, and he insisted I didn’t, that she’s “just a friend,” she continued. “I asked if he wanted to meet up again, but he declined, saying he’s too busy.”
“I just flew 8 hours for…that. I am actually mortified. How could he treat me with such disregard and disrespect?”
She’s left feeling so hurt and confused that he asked the girl he’s clearly sleeping with out to dinner with the two of them, but then already ate with her before she arrived and then spent the rest of the evening tossing ice cubes at her.
“My skin is crawling, and I feel sick,” she concluded. “What is the best way to look at this situation? Because right now, I am humiliated.”
