And honestly, she really liked her sister’s offer. After all, Alice’s apartment is much closer to her college than where she currently lives. Plus, she would finally get to live alone.
On the flip side, though, she realizes just how much work taking care of two dogs will be. So, she believes that it is not unreasonable for her to want to be compensated for the dog sitting.
“If I did not have to take care of the dogs, I could get a part-time job if I wanted to. So, I feel like I should be reimbursed for that,” she explained.
Her mother and sister, though, have completely opposing perspectives. In fact, they both believe that being allowed to live rent-free in her sister’s apartment is more than enough. So, they have accused her of being unreasonable and “money hungry.”
But, after hearing those arguments, she admitted to actually laughing in their face. Plus, she even told her sister Alice to try and find another dog sitter then.
“I know I am her best option,” she vented.
If you could not have guessed, though, her attitude just made both her mom and Alice even angrier.
So now, she has been left wondering whether asking to be paid for the six months of dog sitting was a reasonable request or not.
Do you think getting a rent and utility-free apartment is a great deal in exchange for dog sitting? If you were in her shoes, wouldn’t you also want to help out your sister? Why do you think she expects more money on top of a free place to live that is close to her college? If you were in her shoes, would you accept your sister’s offer or not?
