She was concerned that her being sidetracked would make her husband have a bad time, so she had a couple of drinks to try to stop being so anxious.
Then, one woman at the party came walking right up to her and her husband.
“She had a smug grin on her face and greeted my husband with a hug and kiss on his cheek,” she explained.
“I didn’t think much of it, it’s a pretty standard greeting. But then she started to say some things that retrospectively are (upsetting).”
“She was calling herself his work wife and that she should help look after my children like that was a normal suggestion from a work colleague. I again decided to ignore her. My husband didn’t seem interested. How wrong was I.”
Several hours later, guests began to go home. By then, it was 10 in the evening, and she was itching to get back home to their children.
When she brought this up to her husband, he just grumbled about how he really wanted to spend a bit longer with his coworkers, as a few of them were heading out to a bar.
She replied that she wasn’t interested because she really wanted to go home. Her husband didn’t stop her; he just said don’t stay up all night waiting for him to go home.
She was bothered by how her husband brushed off the fact that their son was home sick, and she couldn’t understand why he wasn’t as worried as she was.
As soon as she had walked out of the building, she noticed that she had left her phone behind, so she turned around and went back into the building so she could grab it.
When she made her way back to where the party was, she came across her husband and this woman who had approached them earlier claiming to be his work wife, and they were making out in a corner.
