At this point, though, he was so upset with his wife that she still asked in the first place. He ordered the milkshakes on a separate tab, and his wife handed him a credit card to pay for them and didn’t speak to him for the remainder of the car ride.
His wife still wouldn’t speak to him until later that night when he asked her if she was still angry. She was, and she tried to explain that his complaining and the whole situation were unreasonable and overly aggressive.
While he can see why it might be a bit unreasonable, he doesn’t think it was very aggressive, and neither of them is willing to apologize to the other.
“I end up drinking alone on the front patio all night until everyone goes to bed,” he added.
