Upon bringing it up with her ex-husband, he was a bit unsure about the idea but said that if it was something that Kelly was okay with and wanted to do, then he would support it.
However, Kelly doesn’t want to switch schools and has no intention of doing so. Her stepchildren’s school does not have a STEM program, and Kelly doesn’t want to leave that and all of her friends that she’s made.
Kelly questioned her mother as to why the stepchildren couldn’t transfer to her school instead, and she tried to explain to her daughter that it would be too expensive for her husband to afford, and neither of the older kids was into STEM subjects.
Despite many conversations, bribing attempts, and expressing how frustrating this all is, Kelly refuses to let her mother take her out of her school. Therefore, her ex-husband does not support the idea.
“I even tried the compromise that it’d just be until her stepsiblings graduated [in two years], and she said, then I can easily put up with this for two years,” she said.
Since this dilemma, Kelly has decided that she’s going to stay at her father’s house until this issue is resolved and she doesn’t have to change schools.
