On the day of the race, she used her strategy immediately and was already exhausted by the two-minute mark.
His girlfriend started asking him if he would slow down and walk with her, but he had done too much training for this race just to walk it.
He apologized, told her that he loved her, and left her behind in order to do the best he could in the run. He ended up running it in 26 minutes, which was beating his goal!
However, this high wouldn’t last for very long. He tried calling his girlfriend after the race was over to find out where she had gone, but she didn’t pick up.
Soon enough, he realized that she had left him there, and he had to take an Uber to get back home. Upon entering their place, he was met with crying and screaming, his girlfriend extremely upset that he ditched her to finish the race.
He attempted to calm her down, saying that she brought this on herself, but she was not interested in anything he had to say about the matter. She ended up giving him the silent treatment for the entirety of the following day.
