Ever since then, his girlfriend has been acting distanced from him and is clearly hurt by his actions, claiming that the thought behind the gifts should be what counted.
“But I told her that it didn’t seem like any thought was put into these gifts,” he said.
While he understands that he is a difficult person to shop for, he wishes that his girlfriend had just taken his advice and not gotten him anything at all.
