So, in a month, her husband will be attending his 10-year high school reunion, but he never said anything to her about it. But, when she brought up that she was planning to go out of town for an upcoming weekend, her husband informed her she had to stay home and pick him up from his reunion.
This was the first time she heard of his reunion, so she asked him if he wanted her to come too, but he said no. She ended up getting into an enormous argument with him over this, and her feelings were deeply hurt by being excluded.
What’s also concerning to her is that his girl best friend will be at the reunion since they went to high school together.
Her husband’s excuse for not wanting her to come is that he wants to be able to spend time with his guy friends and talk about what they did back in the day, and he does not want her to know about it.
“But I know that’s not the real reason,” she said. “And even if it is that girl being there is just, I don’t know, it’s making me so mad, the fight ended up escalating he told me I was being absolutely ridiculous, and eventually, he said, like, you’re not invited I don’t want you there.”
“It would be…miserable if you were there, and then I just kind of shut down, and we didn’t really talk for the rest of the night.”
“So I’m trying to get over it and act like it’s not a big deal, and it really wouldn’t be if it weren’t for that girl going. Like, I totally get wanting to do guy stuff and talk guy talk and me not be there.”
She’s left wondering if she’s blowing things out of proportion by being so upset that he’s going to his reunion with his girl best friend, but she’s not allowed to attend.
