His Girlfriend Broke Up With Him After Enrolling In A Grad Program And Becoming Very Distant, So He Asked If She Cheated On Him With Another Guy In Her Program, But She Was Furious About This Accusation
For a little more than a year, this man has been in a relationship.
While he and his girlfriend have disagreements, just like any other couple, things have gone smoothly for them.
A bit ago, his girlfriend enrolled in a graduate program in another state, which would last several months.
Sadly, he wasn’t going to be able to see her too often while she was in her grad program.
Leading up to the start of her program, they decided that he would take time off from work so that he could come to see her in a couple of months.
Then, his girlfriend started her grad program, and understandably, she became very busy. She didn’t text or call him as often as she used to and would take longer to respond to him.
At first, he wasn’t concerned and had expected this to happen.
But over the next several weeks, his girlfriend never texted him first, and they hardly ever talked on the phone when they used to quite often.
He normally has a lot of anxiety, but he tried to keep in mind that she was most likely swamped with her studies.

“My visit eventually came, and she was very cold the whole time I was with her. She didn’t want to talk very much and only seemed to brighten up when she was around some friends she had made. They all seemed like cool people, but she seemed very close to this one guy, B,” he said.
His visit lasted several days, and he noticed that his girlfriend didn’t seem happy around him the entire time he was there, regardless of what he did to try to lighten her mood.
While he was with his girlfriend, he questioned her to find out if there was anything upsetting her, but she said there wasn’t anything wrong.
Due to this shift in her behavior, his time visiting her was terrible. However, she didn’t seem open to discussing what she was thinking or why she was acting so distant.
Once he returned home, his girlfriend texted him even less, and her texts were shorter and more and more impersonal as time went on.
He could see a breakup instigated by his girlfriend looming, and he went over everything in his head to try to understand what changed and why she no longer seemed invested in the relationship.
“She eventually came home when her program was over, and, as expected, she asked to meet me so we could talk. She very bluntly told me she didn’t love me anymore,” he explained.
He asked what happened to cause her to fall out of love with him. In response, all she said was that she hadn’t been happy for some time, but she didn’t want to end their relationship when he came to see her because she didn’t think that timing was appropriate.
When she was explaining this, he felt angry, and before he could even stop himself, he asked if she had hooked up with B.
“She was furious and strongly denied it. She said that, whatever her own flaws, she despised cheaters and would never cheat on anyone, even someone she was planning on breaking up with. She said she thought I knew her better than that,” he shared.
After that, she was still infuriated. As she was leaving, she told him that she had to think things through.
Despite how offended his girlfriend was with his question about whether she cheated on him, he doesn’t think it was wrong of him to wonder about it. In his view, it made sense for him to have those worries in the back of his mind because of the way his girlfriend had been acting.
At the same time, he doesn’t want to think less of his girlfriend, either.
