This 38-year-old guy has been dating his girlfriend, who is 35, for three years, and he truly believes that he’s never been happier.

Prior to this relationship, he was married to his 46-year-old ex-wife. And together, they had two daughters, who are now 15 and 16-years-old.

“My daughters mean the world to me, and they’re the most beautiful girls I know,” he said.

However, he and his ex-wife still eventually separated, and he remained single for about five years following the split.

During that time, custody of his girls was split– with him and his ex-wife getting the children every other week.

Then, he eventually met his girlfriend, and his life changed. They are now even planning to move in together. But his daughters couldn’t be more unhappy with that.

Apparently, the girls are angry about the idea of him and his girlfriend living together since they really don’t like her. And he claims that the only reason he can possibly think of is that his daughters are jealous of his girlfriend.

According to him, his girlfriend is extremely loving and kind. He feels that she has “a huge heart” and has tried her absolute hardest to forge a relationship with his daughters.

Nonetheless, his girls are still really rude to his girlfriend and claim to hate her– going so far as to constantly make fun of her appearance.

He finds this very silly, too, since his girlfriend is obviously very pretty, and he believes that everyone knows that.

“That’s why I started to suspect jealousy because my daughters, especially my older, suffer from feeling ugly,” he explained.

“According to her therapist, her not being considered beautiful is a huge factor for her depression.”

So, due to his daughter’s feelings, his mom now believes that he is “losing” his daughters over his girlfriend– whom his mom called a “stranger.” In fact, his mom accused him of choosing his girlfriend and his own happiness over his kids!

However, in his mind, he is a human being, too, and he thinks that he deserves to feel happy.

“And I find it hard to understand the extent children can use their ‘power’ to control their parents and control adults,” he admitted.

To be clear, he claimed that if there was any risk of his kids being mistreated by his girlfriend, then he never would have chosen her as his partner.

But, she’s just a great person who wants to love his kids– even though she’s been forced to endure ridicule and rumors created by his daughters.

Regardless, his daughters are now claiming that if he goes through with moving in with his girlfriend, then they will just live with his ex-wife permanently. And honestly, he told them that was “fine.”

“They’re so angry, but I am at the end of my tether,” he vented.

Still, despite being so fed up with his daughters’ behavior, he can’t help but wonder if refusing to end his relationship just to make them happy really does make him a jerk or not.

Do you agree that he deserves to be happy? At the same time, is it concerning that his daughters are so opposed to his relationship? Why do you think they really don’t like his girlfriend? How should he handle this situation to save his relationship with both his daughters and his girlfriend?
