Baby-G gave us a special preview of some of their hot new upcoming for the Fall and Holidays season. For those of you not familiar with Baby G, Baby G is the “sister” watch to Casio’s G-Shock . You know, those tough as hell watches that you can drop a few stories on to the floor – and still manage to live to tell the tale. Click on the gallery images to find out more about the new models.
The new BG180SG-8 ($89) and BG5600SG ($79) have a sporty yet girly design going for them with their grey/pink coloring. They are both shock resistant, 100m water resistant and they have a LED light, they support world time in 48 cities, they both have a 1/100 sec Stopwatch and the BG5600 also features a multifunction alarm with 5 daily alarms.
The BG3000 line ($79) is 200M water resistant, features world time for 30 cities, and they have a beat EL backlight with afterglow.
The 80’s styled BG5601 ($79) line screams hipster with its fluorescent choice of colors – including bright yellow, hot pink, white / pink and black / pink. The watches are shock resistant, have an LED light, they are 100M water resistant, have 5 daily alarms, a countdown timer, and they support world for up to 48 cities.
Our personal favorite of the new line up is the MSG300C ($160) with a metallic design that resembles a higher end watch the likes of Tag Heuer. After all, let’s face it – Baby Gs are great but most of them are too sporty to wear at a formal occasion. But these new beauties are classy enough for a night out on the town. They’re sporting a cool combo analogue/digital design. They also are shock resistant, have an LED light, they are 100M water resistant, have 5 daily alarms, a countdown timer, and they support world for up to 48 cities, plus they have an hourly time signal, a full auto calendar, and a LED light with afterglow.
Back in May, we were jealous of all of the new G-Shock watches that were coming out that featured Multi-band atomic timekeeping and ran on Solar power. Baby-G has heard our cries with the new MTG1000 line which is also 200M resistant, features a daily alarm, countdown tier, 1/20 second chronograph, and an auto calendar. These watches will retail for a pricier $400 but that is because they pack in pretty much everything but the kitchen sink. Update: The MTG1000 are actually G-Shock watches
