While other tablet manufacturers are scrambling to push out their first Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) products, an unlikely company has beat them to the punch. Coby Electronics, a budget electronics manufacturer, has just announced a collection of tablets all running Android 4.0.
This Android 4.0 line-up includes the the 7″ MID7042, the 8″ MID8042 (with a 4:3 aspect ratio), the 9″ MID9042, the 9.7″ MID9742 (with a 4:3 aspect ratio), and the 10″ MID1042. All of the tablets are running on a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 CPU, they of course sport multi-touch displays, up-to 1GB of ram, expandable memory up-to 32GB, Wi-Fi and HDMI 1080P output. There is no word on pricing, but you can expect these to be no-frills budget tablets.
The new Coby Android 4.0 OS tablet collection is set to be showed off at CES 2011, where – all things considered, we expect to see a lot more flavors of Ice Cream Sandwich on the show floor.
