HTC One S Comes to T-Mobile Next Week: Hands-On
The HTC One S will be coming to some T-Mobile stores and T-Mobile’s website on April 25th. The HTC One S is a slightly powered down version of the One X available on AT&T’s network, but is still being marketed as a premium smartphone, and has the specs to justify the designation.
The phone is one of the first major phones to become available that runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box. Because this is HTC, it is also one of the first to run the Sense 4.0 UI. That new version of Sense is packing in audio and camera upgrades that should help to make the One S a multimedia powerhouse. The phone will run on the excellent Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, and will be HSPA+ 42 Mbps 4G network compatible. The 4.3” qHD Super AMOLED screen is the major drawback when compared to the One X’s 720p LCD screen, but is still a great display. We first got a chance to play with the One S back at MWC, and now we got some hands-on time with T-Mobile’s model. We can testify to the fact that the build-quality is superb and even though it’s very slim, with its curved edges, the device feels really nice to hold in your hand. The HTC One S will be available on April 25th for $250, with $50 of that coming off after a mail-in rebate, along with a two-year contract.
