In case you didn’t know, today is Geek Pride Day – a celebration of all things geeky while commemorating the original release of Star Wars in 1977. You can kick off the celebration with some new kicks of your own – though, maybe appropriately, you’ll only be pre-ordering them.
Turns out KlearGear’s Geek Sneakers were so popular, the original shipment of 850 pairs sold out in 14 hours – rather than the one month it was expected to take. The sneakers, which feature geeked out patterns like the periodic table, pi, circuitry, constellations, and lines of computer code, were selling for about $70, but those who pre-order now can get them for about $50. The next shipment of Geek Sneakers is scheduled to be sent out to customers on August 10th.
In the meantime, those who pre-order, in addition to getting the shoes at a discount, will be able to buy everything else on KlearGear at 20% off. For those interested in graphic design, KlearGear is open to submissions, offering $500 for any design they end up using on future pairs of shoes.
