Ruark Audio and UK pop group Take That joined forces for charity with Ruark’s special edition R4i music system. Only one unit, bearing the signatures of the band members, was produced, intended for the winner of an auction.
That auction was held with Nordoff Robbins, a charity in the UK that encourages the use of musical education to help rehabilitate and aid vulnerable children and adults. The auction was held during the Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards on June 29th – both the auction and the event combined raised over £400,000, or about $620,000, for the UK-based charity.
Nordoff Robbins takes a unique but appropriate approach to charity, using music to help people with a range of disorders including dementia, depression, and autism, along with stroke and brain trauma victims, to improve their quality of life.
