This one doesn’t stray too far in functionality from similar products made by Withings and Fitbit. Thanks to Wi-Fi capabilities, the scale will communicate with a companion app that will log data and provide graphs over time of weight fluctuation. It’s not immediately clear whether or not this one will support multiple profiles, or if it will be able to intelligently identify the owners of those profiles just by their weight, like those from Fitbit and Withings. It most likely will, since Ace Sensor is making strides to sell these scales to health care professionals by offering cheaper bulk rates for their new scale.
The scale itself can store up to 3,000 measurements, and, according to Ace Sensor, the battery can last five years or more, which seems like an awfully long time. If true, that’s an impressive number. The companion app mentioned above will be free, and you’ll be able to use it to store unlimited data, chart your weight over time, and share over social networks, if you choose to.
The Ace Sensor LX 200 Smart Scale will ship on March 1 of this year, but pricing information has not yet been released.
