It’s starting to look like the autumn of mini portable Bluetooth speakers. In addition to the heaps of like products already out there, Jawbone and JBL recently offered up two new options of their own. Now, Jabra is getting into the mix with a tiny version of their Solemate portable speaker.
The Jabra Solemate Mini has the same ridged, sneaker-like underside as its bigger sister. This one is about the size of the span of your hand, and will come in red, yellow, blue, and black. As a proper on-the-go speaker should be, the Mini is resistant to dust, sweat, and splashes, and has a decent battery life, put by Jabra at about eight hours. Bluetooth is the main method of pairing, but you can also use NFC to pair your device with the Solemate Mini, and still control the speaker from across the room.
The full-sized speaker is getting an upgrade, too. Jabra is also releasing an enhanced version of the original Solemate which, like the Mini, will feature NFC connectivity. It will also work with the Jabra Sound App, which features Dolby Digital Plus sound space enhancement. The app can also store online content temporarily, for offline streaming to your Solemate.
The Jabra Solemate Mini and enhanced Solemate will both be available in Q4 of this year, for $100 and $150, respectively.
