With The Force Awakens hitting theaters — next week?! Time flies. Verizon and Motorola are getting in on the action. How could they not? When you have a phone called the Droid, you can’t repel marketing potential of that magnitude.
Starting tomorrow, you’ll be able to use the Moto Maker in Verizon stores or online to get your hands on exclusive Droid Turbo 2 designs featuring characters from The Force Awakens. There will be a selection of new back shells with Poe Dameron, Rey, BB-8, a First Order Stormtrooper, and Kylo Ren, along with matching color schemes and Star Wars wallpapers.
Bad Star Wars references aside, Verizon has a couple other promotions for the run up to the movie’s release. Verizon has a thing called TheoryWars.com, a random The Force Awakens theory generator that spits out prognostications that you can customize and share. More importantly, it gives you a shot to win one of 12,000 opening weekend tickets Verizon is giving away. Verizon is also sponsoring the official livestream of the red carpet premiere of the movie next Monday (8:30 PM ET on StarWars.com), and will have someone on site to take questions asked in the correct Twitter format — the inclusion of #TheForceAwakens and @Verizon.
