All the Movie, TV, and Video Game Releases You Need to Know About for January

Need to know what’s worth nerding out on this month? We’ve been combing the release calendars to find all the awesome movies, shows, and games headed your way. Here’s what’s got our attention!

Maze Runner: The Death Cure – January 26

The last entry in the latest young adult dystopian adventure trilogy genre, Maze Runner: The Death Cure promises the usual third entry trip to the Big City That Controls Everything. Based on the James Dashner novels, the film series saw its first two entries in 2014 and 2015, so it’s been quite the gap between those and the final entry. And, for now, it should be the last — they’re not splitting the last book into two movies, and while the book series has two prequels, there are no plans to adapt those.

Insidious: The Last Key – January 12

This is the fourth installment in the Insidious series — you can tell because it’s the fourth movie when they always stop putting the numbers in the titles. The Last Key looks like it’ll carry over straight from the other three — lots of demons, and lots of mysteries about whatever The Further is. Lin Shaye is back as Elise, meaning The Last Key will be a sequel to the third movie, which was a prequel to the original two.
