Porta System's new Touch1600 is the first DVR security system we've come across to sport a large touch screen display. The device has a 17" display with a 500GB or 1TB hard drive under the hood. Aside from its DVR capabilities, the network enabled system also allows for remote access, camera motion detection, and object movement detection. Overall, having a touch screen on a surveillance device like this is more than just a gimmick and it makes a lot of sense, since users will need to operate it on the fly and playback videos right away with out hassle. There is no word on pricing yet.
It should have been called the one eyed Joby but instead it was called the Gorillatorch. It is the same concept as the Gorillapod, but this one sports a flashlight that stands by itself. There is no need to depend on anyone else to hold a flashlight. Just perch the Gorillatorch wherever you could use some extra light and do what you need to. The legs bend and will also hold nuts and bolts for you with its magnetized legs as you play Mr. Fix it. The Gorillatorch retails for $29.95
The 252° Living Area is a totally new take on the traditional motor home. Designed by graduate students at the Superior Institute of Design, the idea is that once you pull over on the road, its rooms unfold like an accordian and expand to a 252° radius. Once set up, you'll have a bedroom, living room, bathroom, kitchen and even an office. Is this the future of motor homes or just a concept that will never make it anywhere? We don't know. But we cant help but feel that as cool as this seems, we think we'd feel like Barbie in her Fold and Fun House walking around in it. (Via Vanity Fair)
Being the geeks that we are, we've written about Super Mario, Star Trek, and Marvel Comic Book wall Decors in the past, and we've even considered getting them to decorate our room. Now Skinit is giving us the chance to design our own mammoth and very egotistical wall decors. The new SkinitWallskins are made of 3M materials which promise to be easily applied and removed. You can even create cut out shapes - including cut outs of yourself - it's up to your imagination. Pricing begins at $49.99 for 2' x 2' - 3' x 3' to $149.99 for Up to 9.5' x 4.5'.
We've seen a lot of whacky glow-in-the-dark products come and go, but as ridiculous as the Glow in the Dark Toilet Paper Roll might seem - it is actually the most useful glow--in-the-dark product ever. If you plan on going camping, make sure you take a couple of these rolls with you/ This way you'll be properly prepared, should you find that the call of nature visits you in the middle of night in the cold dark woods. This Glow Roll is also practical if you need to use the bathroom during the night and you don't want to turn on the light and wake someone up. You can ...
If you are looking for a new way to get out of bed then the latest headboards from Homelegance Furniture should do the trick. The Fantacy Land Youth Collection by Homelegance allows you or your child to listen to their favorite tunes not via an iPod dock or Wi-Fi radio - nah! But through the padded headboard right behind them. The headboards feature double mounted speakers, volume control and side pocket for an MP3 player. The collection offers four sports themes: baseball, basketball, football, and soccer. The headboards will only fit on twin size beds, so unless you prefer sleeping in a twin ( if you live in a NYC rental - you probably do) this latest form of technology is strictly for the kids and retails for $220.

It may not be Pleo but it's still damn cute. The LEDSAUR Dinosaur LED Desk Lamp is made of hand-carved stainless steel and can be bent carefully into a different shape. It also features energy-saving LEDs that has colors which can be adjusted with the included remote control. Unfortunately, the price will make your roar, since it costs $152.
Touch is no longer reserved for the many MP3 players and cellphones out there, now it has come to door locks. Arrow Lock is the first to introduce touch features with The Revolution. It displays a touchscreen above the door handle that's similar to those found on mobile phones. Instead of using a key to open your door, just enter a passcode on the touchscreen and the door unlocks. The Revolution can be programmed via a voice prompt that guides users through the process to set up codes and authorized users. And if you still can't handle it, it does still operate with a key...no pricing is available so far ...
Your mom might have taught you that it's not polite to play with your food, but the Japanese think otherwise. The Sushi Train Restaurant and Game comes with a motorized two part train car that runs along a rail. The idea is to place sushi on the train car and control the train car with an included controller. Talk about meals "on the go". The game comes with fake sushi, so the idea is to pick out the fake sushi as it goes along the train tracks, but we figure it would be much more fun and tastier with real sushi. The Sushi Train Restaurant and Game retails for $73.

I don't have a green thumb by any means. So having a little help with technology always helps when it comes to growing plants. With a little help with NASA technology the Power Plant Growing Machine helps plants grow all year round with no need for soil. The technique is called 'aeroponics'"A nifty internal microjet system constantly sprays roots with super-oxygenated, nutrient rich water so crops grow bigger and stronger." All you need to do is add water to this super nutrient mix ( you see you still have to do something!) and the roots will appear over time. Perfect for growing herbs or just saying you do. The Power Plant Growing Machine retails for £34.95 (USD $49.87)
Back in the day, a high tech body scale would be one that read your weight out loud. And we hated them for it! Now flash forward several years ahead and there is the Withings Connected Body Scale. This scale gives your weight and an analysis of your fat mass. Plus, using its Wifi connection, the scale records all your measures and sends it to your iphone. Then you can download the Withings iPhone app and you'll be able to take a look at all that info, including the lean mass and fat mass curves, even when you're not near the actual scale. Alternatively, you could monitor all ...

If you ever wanted a dramatic looking pair of bookends than these will certainly do the trick. Exclusively at the Star Wars Shop is the Illuminated Lightsaber Bookends, giving the illusion of Darth Vader stabbing through your books. Being that product is not completed yet, once it is a red hue will illuminate from within - looking like Darth just took a lightsaber to your books. Everything is battery powered so there are no wires. Shipping in September, the Illuminated Lightsaber Bookends will retail for $49.99.
Quite some time ago we wrote about LG’s LTM9000 Combination Oven and Toaster, and now there is a new version on the block. The new MD-2653GT aka Solo, doesn't just look like a microwave/toaster hybrid, it has also been designed to look a lot like a washing machine for some unknown reason - but unfortunately, it won't wash your clothes too. If this new version ever comes out stateside, we imagine it would be very popular with students and city dweller's where living space is at a premium.
I'm not sure I should admit I used to watch Stargate.... But I guess I have to if I'm going to mention the Stargate Coaster set, which makes me completely giddy! Just place these Stargate coasters on your coffee table and watch those around you oooh and ahhh. Assuming those around you are total dweebs, like yourself. The coaster is designed to look like the Stargates did in the movies and TV show. These Stargate Coasters come in a set of 4 and are meticulously designed with great detail. The Stargate Coasters are available at Thinkgeek for $29.99. Wormholes not included.
We are no stranger to the mirrors with tech enhancements and mirrors with TVs embedded in them. In fact, several years ago we mentioned the Seura television mirror and once again they have out done themselves and released Seura the One. This time around it is a 19" high definition LCD Television that has been embedded in a mirror. The TV is sporting a 16:9 widescreen ratio, 1080P, HDMI input, PC input, ATSC/NTSC tuner, and it comes with a waterproof remote control. For those who can actually afford it, the price range is $3500 and we will be the first to use ...
This may be the one cookie jar, Cookie Monster would avoid. The Death Star Cookie Jar is an exclusive to the Star Wars Shop and will be sculpted from polyresin to keep your Chips Ahoy fresh. The jar will stand on three sturdy feet so it doesn't roll away. It can also double as a ice cooler or candy bowl. It's so sad what happened after the fall of the empire that they had to resort to doing this to make money... The image of the Death Star Cookie Jar is still only in concept art stages but I have no doubt that we will be pleased with the final results. The Death Star Cookie Jar will retail for $49.99.
