L’Oréal to Honor Women in Digital Beauty Technologies

L’Oréal is looking for up and coming women in the fields of technology and beauty through their Next Generation Awards. Five female  CEOs of tech start-ups dedicated to beauty will be chosen, and will receive recognition, good press, and, more importantly, access to venture capital firms and business mentorship. The five winners will be chosen from a field narrowed down to 10 finalists, all 10 of which will, after the competition, receive press recognition and access to mentorship.

The Next Generation Awards are part of L’Oréal’s ongoing Women in Digital program, which promotes female entrepreneurship in the fields of technology and beauty, offering recognition, testing opportunities, and recruitment opportunities to qualified businesswomen. The program also works with several venture capital firms to help fledgling businesses get a sound footing in the business world. That includes the NEXT Lab, which provides the grant money and testing opportunities to those rising entrepreneurs.

Nominees for the Next Generation Awards will be judged by L’Oréal corporate leadership, representatives from participating venture capital firms, and the Women in Digital advisory board, which includes the CEO and co-founder of Women 2.0 and the managing director of TechStars Boston. Nominations can be made in the fields of e-commerce, digital media/content, mobile, gaming, or big data from now until May 30th. The five winners will be chosen and notified by June 25th.
