Adoption Ad For ‘The World’s Worst Cat’ Has The Internet In Stitches

I spend a lot of time reading adoption ads on the internet since I have a dream one day of being able to rescue basically everyone that needs a home.

Every ad I have ever seen talks up the animal’s amazing qualities and tells you exactly why you need them in your life.

Except for this one.

Mitchell County Animal Rescue is located in North Carolina, and they just posted an ad for “The World’s Worst Cat” that has the internet in stitches.

Honestly, it’s completely hysterical and the greatest thing you’re going to read today.

“Meet Perdita, not for the faint of heart,” their Facebook post starts out with.

“LIKES: staring into your soul until you feel as if you may never be cheerful again; the song Cat Scratch Fever, the movie Pet Cemetery (Church is her hero), jump scares (her specialty), lurking in dark corners, being queen of her domicile, fooling shelter staff into thinking she’s sick (vet agrees…she’s just a jerk).”

“DISLIKES: the color pink, kittens (yuk they are so chipper), dogs, children, the Dixie Chicks, Disney movies, Christmas and last but NOT least…HUGS.”

“She’s single and ready to be socially awkward with a socially awkward human who understands personal space.”

“FREE ADOPTION. If interested please go to www.mitchellcountyanimalrescue.org to fill out an application.”

Perdita’s ad quickly went viral, and after receiving 175 different applications for her, Mitchell County Animal Rescue found the perfect family to adopt her!

“After careful consideration, Perdita has chosen her new family! The staff of our small rural shelter has been overwhelmed by the response to Perdita’s adoption ad,” Mitchell County Animal Rescue posted in an update.

“After sorting through 175 applications (some came in even after we stopped taking them) and narrowing the search down to the top ten, staff conducted interviews, checked references and made some introductions to the naughty girl.”

“The decision was difficult as there were so many very qualified applicants.”

“Perdita chose her adopters after a successful meet and greet that included minimal growling and very little slapping (on her part…her new cat parents are lovely and don’t growl or slap at all).”

“We feel confident in the decision and feel that the couple’s quiet lifestyle, vast cat-experience, patience, and cat appropriate house will lead to a successful transition for Perdita!”

“The “World’s Worst Cat” will be leaving for Tennessee with her new parents on Saturday.”

“Stay tuned for more photos and videos of Perdita on her going home day!!”

Ah, if only online dating ads were this honest!
