This TikToker’s Viral Bad Date Story Had An Unexpectedly Pleasant Outcome

Bad date stories have been all the rage on TikTok, and this user’s tale has a plot twist like no other.
A TikToker named Ema went viral after posting about the worst date she has ever had on her account @Emaroadkill.
“I heard we were sharing bad date stories, and I wanted to throw my hat in the ring,” Ema said before plunging into her experience.
“So like five years ago, I was scrolling on Tinder, and I saw this guy named Matt. According to his bio, Matt was a proudly acclaimed West Point graduate, and we started talking,” Ema recalled.
At first, Ema did not sense any red flags. She thought he seemed nice enough despite being “a little intense.” So, they made plans to meet for a meal at a Ramen restaurant in Austin, Texas.
“We went to this place, and the conversation was flowing; the small talk was good. But, I noticed this little plaque on the wall that said, ‘Free ice cream cone if you eat a whole bowl of ghost pepper ramen,'” Ema said.
In the spirit of conversation, she pointed it out as a joke. Matt, though, took the challenge very seriously.
“The waiter showed up to take our order. I ordered pork ramen, and he actually asked for the ghost pepper ramen,” Ema explained, “It was our first date.”

She was clearly worried about how Matt’s experience would go, and the waiter was too. The pair’s server warned Matt that the challenge is more of a “gag” than anything and even coined it a “day-ruiner.”
Nonetheless, Matt followed through with his request, and the ghost pepper ramen eventually arrived at the table.
“He started eating it and began pouring liquid from every orifice. His eyes were watering, his nose was running, and he was just covered in sweat,” Ema recalled.
That is definitely not an ideal appearance for a first date. What’s even worse is that the pair could not really enjoy each other’s company.
“Obviously, we could not really talk or anything like that because all of his energy was solely going towards the bowl of ramen. It was like going on a date with someone who is getting a tattoo,” Ema said.
Miraculously, Matt did get through the bowl of ramen and managed to impress the waiter. However, once the waiter finally offered Matt the ice cream cone, he had different plans.
“Homeboy said, ‘I’m not finished,’ and I kid you not, there were maybe three inches of liquid left in his giant ramen bowl. He lifted it up like a cup and drank every drop out of the bowl,” Ema said.
Even though Matt had eaten the physical ramen, it’s important to note that the broth had been soaking up all the excessive spice as time went on.
“It’s the spiciest portion of the ramen by far,” Ema said, “So, needless to say, he got that ice cream cone.”
While many women might be turned off toward this kind of display, something about Matt clearly struck Ema. Maybe it was his passion or his determination, but Ema and Matt have now been married for five years.
Tiktokers from all over soaked up this unexpected outcome like Matt soaked up the spice. Ema’s video reached 1.2 million people, garnered nearly one hundred and twenty thousand likes, and spurred over two thousand comments.
“I was thinking the whole time that this man would win because he was not acting like a boyfriend; those are husband moves. And, I was dead on,” one user wrote.
“That was a great story and an even better ending,” commented another user.
“I said ‘marry him’ when you said he started drinking the broth,” a third user chimed in, followed by a smirking emoji.
All in all, Ema and Matt undoubtedly experienced the best possible turn of events from this spicy date.
