This NYC Condo Listed At Nearly $500K Has A Shower In The Kitchen

Have you ever wondered what a cool five hundred thousand dollars could buy you in New York City?

While that budget may sound like plenty, the condos you can actually afford are pretty underwhelming.

In fact, you might even have to deal with some serious “quirks.”

Kristen Rylander, a Douglas Elliman real estate agent in the city that never sleeps, took the TikTok community on a tour of one condo in the West Village priced at four hundred and sixty-five thousand dollars.

And while the location is gorgeous, you definitely have to look past some odd home features.

The listing is a ground-floor studio on Cornelia Street with a total of four hundred and forty-five square feet.

And besides the hefty price, the condo also comes with a monthly maintenance fee of over one thousand dollars. Yikes.

“I think this is a super high maintenance fee for what this apartment is, but we will have to see it in person,” Kristen said before taking her viewers on a tour.

First, there is a separate nook off to the side of the kitchen where the shower is. Kind of a strange design layout, right? Imagine trying to freshen up while having company over.

And you might be wondering where the toilet is. Well, it is actually located in a tiny closet right off of the bedroom. There is no sink in there, either.

The final oddity is that there are multiple sinks in the kitchen. Perhaps one is for post-bathroom hand washing, and the other is for cooking? Either way, if you invest in this property, you’d have to make sure you properly clean both daily just in case of a mix-up.

Kristen’s video sharing the realities of the NYC housing market shocked the TikTok community, reaching over six hundred and seventy thousand viewers and roping in nearly twenty-five thousand likes.

“So you pay five hundred thousand dollars to buy it and then pay one thousand a month to maintain it? It makes no sense,” commented one user.

“It’s pretty, but not worth nearly five hundred thousand dollars based almost entirely on location,” wrote a second user.

“Please interview the people that buy this place. We just need to know WHY!” joked a third.

What do you think about this outrageous New York City listing? Is location really what’s most important, or is this condo seriously overpriced?
