She Showed Up To Her Sister’s Wedding With Her Boyfriend Even Though She Was Not Invited
A twenty-three-year-old woman’s sister just got married last week. And while she always supported her sister and her fiancé’s relationship wholeheartedly– and even attended numerous pre-wedding events like bridal showers and bachelorette parties– she was surprisingly not invited to the ceremony.
Her sister blamed the lack of an invite on the fact that the wedding was more of an elopement rather than a full-on ceremony.
So, her sister said there just was no space for her and her boyfriend.
But then, she saw that one of their mutual friends had posted a photo of the wedding invitation on social media.
This prompted her to google the venue and realized that while the space might be small, there was no reason why two more people– especially her, being the bride’s sister– could not be invited.
She also asked her parents about the bizarre lack of invite, but they just said her sister and fiancé were paying for the wedding out of pocket– so they wanted to keep it small.
Still, she believes that the real reason why her sister did not invite her is because of her life choices.
“I am currently thirty-six weeks pregnant out of wedlock with my boyfriend, who my family does not approve of only because he’s a tattoo artist,” she explained.
“I also have tattoos and colored hair– which is also not something our very conservative family agrees with.”

So, instead of letting her family exclude her due to their own biases, she decided to take matters into her own hands.
Since she had the wedding venue’s location, date, and time, she told her boyfriend they should just attend the wedding anyway.
The pair got all dressed up– even much more conservatively than usual– and headed to the ceremony with a nice gift.
And after she and her boyfriend showed up at the wedding, everything was surprisingly normal.
Apparently, all of the guests acted like she was supposed to be there, and she and her sister even posed for professional photos like nothing had happened.
But, her sister was clearly faking it because after the photos were finished, her sister pulled her aside and totally freaked out.
“Then, I called her out for lying to me, and she did admit I was an embarrassment to her and our family– just because of how I looked and who I decided to date,” she recalled.
And since her suspicions about her sister were true, she decided to simply leave after the altercation. Her boyfriend drove while she just sobbed the entire car ride home.
She and her sister have now not spoken since the wedding last week. In fact, her sister even blocked her number, and her parents said her sister she needed some space.
So now, even though she wanted to see her own sister get married, she also feels like a total jerk for wanting to show her support.
Do you think the woman should have shown up to the wedding without an invite? Does it matter why she was not invited?
