Her Brother And Sister-In-Law Showed Up On Her Wedding Day In Full Wedding Attire And Wanted To Take Their Own Wedding Photos With Her Guests, So She Had Them Kicked Out
This thirty-four-year-old woman and her husband, who is thirty-five, recently just got married. About a week before her big day, though, she received a strange request from her brother Jack and sister-in-law Hannah– who are twenty-two and twenty-four, respectively.
Apparently, Jack and Hannah asked if they would be able to take their own wedding photos after her and her husband’s ceremony, as well as during the reception.
Now, her brother and sister-in-law apparently wanted to do that because they chose to elope when they tied the knot.
So, Jack and Hannah did not get to have “the whole wedding experience,” but they still wanted to take some nice pictures in order to hang up at their house and show their future children.
Anyway, after being asked if that would be okay, she wanted to clarify and asked if Jack and Hannah meant they would take the photos after everything was over.
However, her brother and sister-in-law said no, and claimed that they wanted people– her guests– to be in the pictures with them.
And honestly, she was pretty generous. She admitted to understanding why the couple wanted to take wedding pictures at the venue and told them that they could.
But, the photos would have to be taken either before the event started or after all of the guests had already left.
Apparently, she even chose those times because Jack and Hannah wanted to show up dressed in full-on wedding attire.
“And I did not want them to be wearing that during the wedding,” she said. Completely understandable.
Well, her brother and sister-in-law reportedly did not agree that was a good enough offer and even tried to get her to change her mind.
Thankfully, though, she just stood her ground, and Jack and Hannah ended up revealing that they did not want to take the photos anymore under those circumstances.
“I thought nothing of it,” she revealed, “and I just carried on with my life.”
That was until the day of her wedding, though, when her brother and sister-in-law had the nerve to arrive at the event with a photographer. Plus, the absolute worst part was that Hannah had shown up wearing a long white dress!
Now, all of her guests had already arrived, and she did not want anyone to see Hannah in that gown. So, she asked her maid of honor to tell the couple to change into different couples.
But, her brother and sister-in-law actually refused, so her husband’s groomsmen were eventually forced to just kick Jack and Hannah out.
Anyway, the rest of her wedding went smoothly, thankfully. After it was over, though, her mother did end up asking where Jack and Hannah were, and she was forced to spill the beans.
Despite her mother agreeing that the couple should not have shown up in wedding attire with a literal photographer, though, her mom still gave her some pushback on her decision to have the couple kicked out.
In fact, her mother claimed that she could have just “let it slide” since Jack and Hannah were already at the wedding.
Moreover, her mom pointed out how everyone who attended her wedding already knew who Jack and Hannah were.
“So, it’s not like they would have caused any confusion,” she noted.
And now, since talking to her mom about the whole situation, she has started to feel pretty terrible about the entire thing.
After all, she knows that Jack and Hannah just wanted to have some nice memories and pictures to show their kids in the future, and she feels as though she ruined that opportunity for them.
Still, both her husband and maid of honor have claimed that she did absolutely nothing wrong.
So, with so many different opinions on what happened, she has been left wondering if not allowing her brother and sister-in-law to take their wedding pictures on her wedding day was justified or a jerky thing to do.
Would you ever ask to take your wedding photos at someone else’s wedding? Was her offer to use the venue before and after already super generous? Why do you think Jack and Hannah thought it was okay to go directly against her wishes and show up in wedding attire? If you had been in her shoes, would you have had the couple kicked out, also?
